Red Dress Gala is Alpha Phi's national philanthropy where family, alumnae and friends are invited to an evening filled with food, drinks, and dancing to raise money and awareness for women's heart health. All the proceeds go to the National Alpha Phi Foundation for Women's Heart Health.  The Alpha Phi Foundation works to support women's heart health and combat heart disease- the #1 killer of women in North America.  Alpha Phi is the only sorority at BGSU with its own foundation.

Our Alpha Phi chapter hosts several events throughout the year to raise awareness for women's heart health through The Alpha Phi Foundation.

KING OF HEARTS

King of Hearts is our annual philanthropy event that involves our favorite men on campus competing against each other in different events for the title of “Alpha Phi’s King of Hearts.” Some of these events include penny wars, dress like a phi, Alpha Phi trivia, BGSU trivia, and a talent competition.

I went Alpha PHI because of the amazing women.  Everyone in this chapter has an amazing heart and it makes me want to be a better me everyday.  Alpha PHI  has given me a home and a family that I will forver be thankful for.

I went Alpha PHI because of their amazing philanthropy.  I knew this group of women could do so many amazing things for women's cardiac care.  While our sisterhood is strong, so is our focus on service and passion for lifting up and helping other women.  Alpha Phi stole my heart and helps so many others.

ALPHA PHREEZE

The sisters of Beta Omicron host an annual Alpha Phreeze event consisting of a build your own milkshake bar with a variety of toppings such as sprinkles, cookies, flavored syrup, etc. A fun event on campus with all proceeds going to the Alpha Phi Foundation.

ALPHA TACOS

Let’s TACO ’bout philanthropy!  For this fun event we make and sell tacos for our fellow classmates with  late night hunger needs with all proceeds going to the Alpha Phi Foundation! Come hungry!

The Alpha Phi Beta Omicron Chapter also participates in other events throughout the year to raise awareness for other causes.

DANCE MARATHON / BIKE FOR TYKES

Alpha Phi participates in this annual event with other groups on the BGSU campus to raise money for Mercy Children's Hospital.

The 24th annual Dance Marathon raised a total of $255,179.28, including $179,032.05 at ZiggyThon and $76,147.23 from Bike for Tykes from April 12-14. These philanthropic efforts by Bowling Green State University students benefit Mercy Children’s Hospital, which is part of the Children’s Miracle Network. This brings the 24-year total of donations to more than $5 million.

SERVICE HOURS

Alpha Phi also encourages our members throughout the year to donate time, goods, and services to various causes.  This year our service hours totaled more than 1600 hours.
